No amount of heat was going to stop the team from helping out at the Bexley Food bank this morning. The team got to work straight away shifting pallets of food from one building to another and getting everything into date order. With regular water breaks we absolutely smash this mission.
We're so glad we can be part of the team thats making an awesome difference within our community.
Massive hi 5 to all those who joined us and a big hello and well done to Emma for completing her first Goodgym Mission. We hope to see you at many more.

What a glorious day in Bexley. The sun was shinning on the team as we arrived at the Danson Community Centre this morning. We had two tasks, one to clear a bush that had overgrown its welcome into the carpark and the other was to get the community herb garden back to awesome for the re-opening of the centre.
As you will be able to tell by the photos we absolutely smashed it and we all came away feeling pretty pleased with our achievement. There's plenty to be getting on with within the centre so we've made a promise to come back real soon.
Well done and a massive thanks to this mornings team Tanya, Caz, Gemma, Martin and Francis See you all at the next missshhhhhhh ๐๐ป๐

Wow, what a morning. The Bexley Goodgym team smashed it out the park with this mission. When we arrived at the Welling Library is was a mix of rubbish, overgrown bushes and weeds. We set ourselves an hour and we absolutely smashed it. Everyone of the team deserves a massive Hi Five for the hard work they put in, the whole area was totally transform when we finally finished. Well don't take my word for it, checkout the photos.
Well done Team ๐๐ป Tim

It was good to see some familiar faces this morning following lockdown, with Matt, Emanuel and Gemma making a welcome return to the Goodgym mission team. They joined 10 other Goodgymers in the latest effort to clean up Bexleyโs green spaces. After two weeks at Hall Place we returned to Danson Park. It may have been we were a bit earlier but Danson seemed a lot tidier than when we were last there but we still managed to collect a fair amount of bottle tops, gas bottles and cigarette butts. A number of park users thanked us for efforts including a woo woo from Jan Lake. For parkrun participants sheโs the enthusiastic volunteer at the turn before the shale path.

Tree movers required - goodgym provide nine!
Having spent Monday evening clearing fallen leaves at Danson Youth Centre, our next task also had an horticultural feel about.
A tree-mendous task awaited us, one that we had been pine-ing for at the Erith Xmas Tree Festival.
Some of us took part in the Bexley parkrun before heading across to Erith. We were joined by Sarah and Johnny from GoodGym Hammersmith & Fulham and we quickly set about the task in hand.
It involved moving 80 Xmas trees from inside the church, setting them in stands and moving them back inside to pre-designated positions around the church. All had been completed in about an hour and we got an oak-ay from the organiser. If there were any in excess of 80 we might have been sycamore trees.
GoodGym Bexley have sponsored a tree this year through donations which will be decorated on Thursday.
The Erith Christmas Tree Festival will run from Friday to Sunday next week.

Tanya Mehmet earned their community cape by completing their first community mission.
Tanya completed a community mission. Instead of watching TV or lying in bed, Tanya was out there making their community a better place to be. For making that choice they have earned the community cape.
