Bromley Report written by Mark Gilyead (he/him)
Last night we had a post-storm sextet out to help out Roxane from Sustrans clear up a little green space they look after in Lower Sydenham.
We kicked off at The Bridge House with the biggest question: favourite band?? Some well thought out answers and excellent taste in music.
We then had quite a picturesque 3km run to the task, taking in some of the waterlink way. When we arrived we met Roxane who told us about the space and Sustransโ involvement in gradually making it a safer and more pleasant place to walk through to the station. We had two tasks:
โ๏ธ Louise and Zara got straight into chopping back some of the undergrowth which was spreading onto the paths.
๐๏ธ And the rest of us grabbed pickers and bags and were on the hunt for litter, often well hidden under the weeds.
We got a good stretch of the path cleared and pretty much the whole area cleared of litter! Nice one team ๐คฉ
We took a couple of snaps to finish and did some jeffing (walking and running) to get home - raising and settling our pulses which is very good for the heart! ๐
See you next timeโ๏ธ

Zara has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Zara is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

What a lovely bunch this evening for a solid task in a weird old building. We kicked things off at the Bridge House with names and favourite breaded goods (made of dough). A nice selection.
It was fab to have Zara at her first GoodGym sesh! And great to have Izzy along to her first group run. And also meeting us from Southwark, Gemma!
Our task this evening was with Kingswood Arts, a group who have taken over an incredible old mansion and are turning it into a multi-faceted events/community/arts/drama/music space. But first we had to get there - It's a bit of a trek over the hill but we made it with perfect timing to meet Nico who showed us our task...
Long live the Kingswood
At Kingswood, we met Gemma and Hannah, shared our favourite breaded goods (bread-crumbed) and got cracking with a load of shifting:
๐ช Moving a couple of hundred chairs into the room next door.
๐ Rearranging some sofas
๐ช Moving more chairs
๐ช Moving some ladders, speakers and miscellaneous boxes to the basement.
๐ช Moving more chairs and tables.
GoodGym combines getting fit with balloonteering ๐
Before leaving, we took some snaps with some balloons and headed home.
Cracking stuff everyone! Imagine how long that would have taken one or two people to do! ๐
