20 Goodgymers ran 5km to help Freightliners City Farm with lots of physical tasks!

Welcome along to Mark and Ellie whose first time it was last night - lovely to have you along.

In the news this week:

  1. GG Monthly Social this Thursday in Tottenham Court Road - full details here - come along!
  2. The next CREOS Community Mission is next Sunday (14th April) - join here.

We collected at the Arc Centre for the first lighter evening of running this year, I don't know about you but the lighter evenings make me really happy!!

After intros and warming up we headed up hill to the Freightliners Farm, this is Islington's very own City Farm - complete with pigs, goats, birds, cows, sheep and more! The farm is a charity that does brilliant work for the local community and also obviously let's everyone see all the animals!

GoodGym Goats!

Upon our arrival Liz tasked us with three jobs:

  1. Muck Manoeuvrer's - a team of six people first took off the top layer of old st. They then wheelbarrowed the good st to the garden where it will be used to feed the plants.
  2. Sand People - a group of seven shifted over a ton of sand from outside the farm gates to the courtyard which is currently being reinvigorated. From one bag to another via wheelbarrowing.
  3. Landscape Lifters - a team of six where tasked with some heavy lifting - they first moved big bags of compost to the garden and then shifted concrete blocks on a trolley from outside the gate to the building area.

Over 30 minutes we did loads of good for our local community and had lots of fun in the process. After a group picture with a friendly goat Ed headed off downhill home.

Post stretching we headed to the pub for a social - pizza and beer yum!

Sign up for next week here when we'll be helping Single Homeless Project.
