Gwyn and Tracey joined Lea from Plot to Plate for another fun-filled session at Little Chester Allotments. We were clearing weeds from a new plot, designed for the use of unpaid carers.
The sides of one of the raised beds had rotted, thanks to our lovely weather, and Lea had made a new box, from donated wood, to replace it. The highlight of our day was when he and Gwyn lowered the box (lined with plastic to delay future decay) over the existing bed, and found it to be an absolutely perfect fit!
We're hoping to be back at the allotments again soon, it's a truly rewarding and fun project to be involved in, making a difference to people's lives.
Plot to Plate was developed to allow disabled & older people to grow their own fruit and veg in a supported environment.
