On Monday, Christian did a solo mission & cycled over to help an after school club in Beeston sort out their garden for a visit on Tuesday.
To say that they were pleased with the results is an understatement! Dasha who organised the event said that 'Christian came and whooshed some magic as me and the manager of the hub were huffing and puffing away . He literally made the garden look like it's never seen a leaf in its life. We were very impressed! Thank you so much for all the help, we have an important show around tomorrow for the kid's club to restart and I think thanks to Christian and his hard work they will be blown away'.
We always know that Christian works hard & this just shows how much he can do, even on his own. Well done Christian!
The garden is set up to provide sessions for families with school age children to learn about growing their own produce, they also learn about composting and plant care. In between sessions the garden is used by other community groups for events , for example mums of SEN kids have used it for an Easter egg hunt, a women's group have used it to learn about planting herbs, and we have run a session for asylum seeker families on growing own herbs. The garden is maintained by volunteers when available.
