Report written by Derby runner
Gwyn and Tracey travelled in silence this week, as someone had put the sat-nav in a "safe place" whilst the car was being repaired from the last outing. Just as well we've become accustomed to the route round our regular group of friends who receive lovely meals courtesy of the Derby West Indian Community Association.
Sadly for us, this will be the last time we will make this particular journey, as the Covid Kitchen Project ends on Saturday. However, we recognise that such a lot of hard work has gone into this, and the cooks and organisers deserve a rest - they have been providing meals twice a week, every week, since April 2020.
This has been an amazing project, bringing so many different people together, and we have loved being part of it.
Debry West Indian community Association is a community hub centred in the middle of Derby. We are currently Delivering hot meals to the most vulnerable in Debry, but we really need your help! if you can spare an hour or two per week please get in touch today.
