11 wonderful runners ran 7.6km to help make a playground better for kids.

Our task for the evening was to help out Rays playhouse. They really needed our help weeding their garden and other jobs. After I briefed the runners at our Better gym meeting point we headed off on our 3.8k run to the nursery. There we met Kelly, the new manager who had three tasks for us. One, to give a building pillar a lick of new red paint. Two, weed the playground as some of the weeds had started to push through the playground floor! And the final task was to help decant one ton of sand from a big white sack in the front yard into small buckets to spread the sand on the giant sand pit on the other side of the building.

"The goodgym effect" strikes again

The gang got stuck in straight away and by the time it was our time to go the all the sand had been transported, the pillar painted and weeds shown who’s boss. Kelly was really pleased for the extra help.

Big kids

It was hard to get the gang to leave afterwards as the toys in the playground where to temping to play with. Good to see we all still like to play!

Ellie lead us most of the way home along the quieter back streets. Tom provided us with the night's run report pun and Catriona baked us banana bread. Lovely stuff!
