It was great to get out for a good run tonight and head over to our good friends at the 24th Coventry Scouts and their allotments.
Following a 4km run there, Laura changed into her London paralympics gamesmaker kit :) and we started weeding and turning over the soil. The scouts have made great progress on their allotments since we first visited and it was great to see the products of their hard work. We found gold in the baby frogs, golden carrots and bags of weeds collected.
We headed back to town covering a further 4km and taking in the gold around us in the fields of wild flowers as we ran.
We are a new scout group set up in Woodend, Coventry. In October 2019 we took on a very large allotment to give our young people to opportunity to grow their own food, learn about the environment and sustainability and to support our community with fresh fruit and vegetables. Unfortunately due to covid we have been unable to meet this spring and the Allotment has become very over grown.
