Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Amy L GoodGym (she/her)
I joined Tessa and Tori for an hour of donation sorting at the busy Baby Bank. We were saddened by how many of coats we were checking hadn’t been cleaned before donation, meaning they were not in a fit state to go to new homes. However we did sort plenty of suitable items into boxes labelled by size, ready to be passed on to families in need. We also had a good catch up while we worked and it was lovely to meet Sally from a rotary club in Windsor, who was visiting to see if her group can support the Baby Bank too.
The Baby Bank collects donations of good quality clothes, equipment, and furniture to help families in extreme need. They provide essentials ranging from everyday items like nappies, and wipes to larger items like cots. They support families beyond the baby stage, for example with school uniform. They aim to give all children the best possible start in life.
