14 Goodgymers run 5.5km and cut back hedges for Mildmay Community Centre
Welcome along to Meenal whose first time it was last night! I did 3 dbs checks, remember to get yours done or renewed so you can do coach runs and missions!
The main news is that the GG London Christmas Party is on 1st December (next week) - come along and get your fancy dress sorted!
Back to what happened last night - the rain came down as we collected together, did our introductions and warmed up. As we headed to Mildmay Community Centre the rain stopped and we were able to run dry through the streets of Higbury and Canonbury.
Upon our arrival at the centre we met Claire and Aidan who joined us for some tasking! Teena put us to work chopping down and digging up two hedges in the back garden, we had 30 mins to do as much as possible!
Getting to the root of the problem!
Armed with saws, choppers, spades, forks and more everyone got to work clipping away at the tops of the hedges before attacking the roots. Each root was a personal challenge for the individual or groups who worked to remove it - we must have removed at least 10 from the flower beds - nice! Meanwhile people swept up and piled the debris near the blue gate.
We finished the evening with two rounds of biscuits, a group picture and a gentle run home.
Sign up here for next week - when we'll be helping the Rose Bowl.
