I spent a warm and sunny couple of hours with the lovely Tasnim from Grow Together E17, who is developing a community plot at Higham Hill Allotments. We did much hoeing and ground levelling, in preparation for the installation of a fabulous new greenhouse. A satisfying task, in lovely company (we definitely set the world to rights!) and - bonus of all bonuses - I was asked to "help out" by taking home the gorgeous purple sprouting broccoli that had grown so beautifully and was just ready to harvest! Never one to look a gift vegetable in the mouth, I gladly accepted. A fabulous project to get involved in, with lovely people on a beautiful sunny day, and gift veggies into the bargain - what's not to love?
