Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Julian Osman
They say that the only things certain in life are death and taxes but this author would add late trains to that, And today, reality met play as the All Aboard club, organisers of the monthly giant train set build for autistic and ADHD children, were nowhere to be seen at the appointed start time as they were delayed (it wasn't clear whether this was for leaves on the line, the wrong kind of snow or (this author's favourite) following a train that was in front of them). So when the team did arrive the hour set up time was reduced to a mere 40 minutes and now we had to work fast. Fortunately the volunteers are now all experts and before we knew it an extensive track layout had been laid down just in time for the kids to turn up.
Our activities are designed and run by specialists with lived experience of autism and ADHD. We understand the children’s challenges and the importance of their special interests. Play sessions Help them boost their confidence, reduce anxiety and share their interests with other children in a safe, supportive and understanding environment.
