A rushed Sam arrived to Old Spike just on time to find Lindy waiting outside. Which was a surprise as he wasn't expecting her, but it was a pleasant surprise. Tonight's task owner had changed their minds about letting the session go ahead due to the Queen's mourning period, so we decided to do our own litter pick of Peckham Rye.

With Lindy and Olive arriving shortly, we were set for our run as Benjamin and Magdalena decided to cycle to the meeting point.

After the warm-up, Sam asked the ice-breaker question, which was to do with the sad passing of our Queen: What will be her legacy?

To not reveal who said what, we had her stability, her sense of duty and service to a role she didn't want, but took on with grace and finally, she could be the last fully serving monarch in British history.

From rags to....richly rewarded good deeds

Our 2k run around Peckham Rye brought us to The Round, which is a cafe in the middle of Peckham Rye. Since we were waiting for Benjamin to arrive, the girls decided to litter pick around the cafe.

Once Benjamin came, we decided to venture into the Community Wildlife gardens, where we left Lindy to tackle a spot that had more cider cans than her flat on a Friday night....and that's saying something (just kidding).

The rest of us walked around the park, but it was fairly clean since the last time we litter picked with Plastic Free Peckham (who know where all the spots are). Yet, as we were deciding to wrap up for the night as it was getting dark and our headtorches were on, we opted to look at an old area we went to last time. In this spot, Benjamin found two half bottles of soft drinks and Magdalena found a jar filled with cigarette buds, but labeled "AJ's jar", so she decided to leave it as we wouldn't want to upset AJ and his smoking habits in possibly his favourite spot.

The night concluded with a super quick "4 exercises in 4 minutes" workout as I did promise everyone that I would conclude this group run by 20:00 tonight. What was in store? A minute of jumping squats, jumping lunges, leg resistance bands and tricep dips!

Thank You to all the GG-ers

A personal thanks from me to all those who came out tonight! It wasn't the planned session we had with Plastic Free Peckham, but we made our own litter pick and even got in a run and a short fitness session. Next week, we're back at Simon's Thorlands, so see those who are up for it there!
