Yvette is a regular volunteer with cubs at 74th Oak Street Scouts and wanted our help setting up and running a Coronation Celebration party for Scouts, potential new members and local community.

We set up tables and games, BBQ and fire pit area, barricading off an area of uneven ground. Other jobs ranged from scrubbing a dirty mouldy BBQ, laying out food, gathering sticks for the fire pit, untangling ropes knotted in a tree and serving food and drinks.

Great time was had in the sun and I even got some firelighting tips from a pro! 🔥

Encouraging adventure since 1915

Established back in 1915, Oak Street has spent the last century encouraging the young people of Sheffield to be curious, confident, and courageous. From using traditional and timeless skills, like bushcraft and expeditions, to more contemporary ones, like coding and environmental awareness, our aim is to equip young people with the skills that will help them flourish in their adult life.
