We were back at St Luke’s Crypt food bank in the morning to help offload 100 (heavy!) pre-prepared food parcel donation boxes. Emily got busy tailoring them for Halal, vege and dietary requirement families and setting the boxes out for the collections later in the day. Meanwhile, Nathalie cleared a cluttered store room, building a beautiful cardboard box wall. Look at it. It’s gorgeous.

We were then able to move the football goal posts out of the food storeroom creating loads more space for the food parcels to be kept.

A winning morning all round!

St Luke's Lunch Project
Supporting families in need in Barton Hill

We usually provide a school holiday lunch club and activities during the school holidays for disadvantaged families, since Covid we've been offering food hampers. St Luke's Church Most of the time the families come and collect the food, which most prefer as they get to choose their food. We've been offering more and more food, for which some families have struggled to carry over to their cars or to walk back to their home (less than 10-15min walk). We don't have a large team of volunteers so can't help everyone with the carrying.
