Wednesday night with goodgym was "The Place" to be as six enthusiastic goodgymers met up to help prep a community centre. To get us all warmed up Peter led us to a local park do some exercise in the outdoor gym there. A few kettle bells swings later we met up with Kirsty from The Place to brush up on our decorating skills and do our bit to transform this amazing space. Walls were scrubbed and painted, ladders were climbed and "marigolds" donned. We must have impressed as we were offered tea, given a tour and invited back for future tasks! We also welcomed Becky to her first ever task.

Community Arts Hub - Paint to transform!
We’d love you to help us with your painting power to transform two disused rooms into a new Community Arts Hub that will include workshops and artist space to foster creativity and social connectivity for members of our community.

Our new Community Arts Hub is a collaboration between The Place activity centre in Sherwood Nottingham, and arts organisation Thortify. With your help, we can transform the rooms (a good lick of ceiling, wall & floor paint)! The hub will support us to combat social isolation and mental ill health through creative interventions, such as accessible arts workshops, community exhibitions and events. As Co-lead on this project, Thortify are committed to continuing their work with community leaders/organisations, professional artists & the public to promote wellbeing & safeguard the role of ‘The Place’ within its community.
