Report written by Bournemouth runner
There were only two and a half of us last night, but we made it count. Hannah and John came from the other side of town to help do a little outdoor beach clearing at my school. We use the area to condition students with running and other games too. If the area starts to overgrow with weeds then we're unable to use it anymore due to health and safety.
Hannah and John set up the area with butterfly spot light to be able to see what they were doing and off they went plucking out weeds with forks and rakes. As it was quite dark the photo side of things was a little tricky.
They warmed up with a little berry tea infusion and coffee and off they went again. There weren't any wheelbarrows available so we ended up using an old curtain and then dragged it off to the bushes and emptied it there.
We also had a visit from the local very tame fox who was looking to see what we had dug up for it's dinner....I don't it had a lot of luck!
After about an hour, the main patches of weeds had been cleared and the area was left ready for us to use this Friday for our sports lessons.
Thank you so much guys! The photos don't do it justice!!
We are cleaning St Peter's Church next week guys and including a run! Come and join us!
