SWEET 16!!!!
We had a great turn out this evening for our group run, so nice to see new faces and runners bringing new friends along! That's what makes GoodGym great!
The biggest news of the evening was Neil hitting the huge milestone of 50 good deeds!!! That is epic! Well done Neil! Bournemouth is a nicer place because of you and we are all better people for knowing you! 50 more please!!!
We welcomed along John who has joined as a member and will also be going on coach runs which is great, both for him and the isolated older person he will visit! Great guy who also has a Marathon coming up in May, so make sure you give him some cheers!!!
Dan joined us before going traveling for 6 weeks to Japan and then Italy. We hope you have an amazing journey Dan, Im sure you'll love it.
It was also great to have Laura back, we thought we lost you! hahahaha and really nice to meet Miffy, we hope you too come more often. I know life can be busy..but we miss you!!!
Well done Millie for bringing Sally along, you both did great and really got stuck in. Sorry you're leaving us so soon though Sally, was really nice to meet you, hope we see you again.
It was also super nice to have Nicole back with us after a long spell out of action, we hope you are doing better and we get to see your smiley face again soon!!!
This evening took us back to St Michael's Primary School to do some more garden preparation for their Bournemouth in Bloom entry as a sensory garden.
Before arriving and after a quick vote we all headed down to the beach to extend our run a little before heading to the school...the gentle run turned into a resistance running challenge with the strong headwind! And then some annoying person suggested we run up the steps of doom!! And they all managed it too! What a team!! It also presented us with a photo opportunity of course!!! We even managed to do a group jump photo with a rainbow in the background!! I think Vogue magazine may be in touch with us soon!
At the school Daryl and Rob quickly set about trimming twigs to stop the kids from getting poked by them. John, Sarah and Caprice were in charge of the front of the classroom, which will be a vegetable plot. Turning over soil and de weeding it and then setting up a sitting area with railway sleeper...they had a rabbit watch them the whole time! So lucky!!!
Laura and Miffy took it upon themselves to clear all the leaves from under the bushes and are still friends after too, love it when people get competitive!!
Lee and Sally were in charge of another path of grass that needing clearing.
Beth, Dan, Nicole, Millie and Abi were tasked with turning over a large patch of weeds and they did a great job too!
Neil tidied up the patch that we didn't finish last week and then still had time to move logs and arrange seating areas around the garden.
We were all so engrossed in what we were doing that we went a little over our time limit!!! Shocking. We'll be back at the end of May to do some more things!
Well done all of you and it was great to have such a nice and big group full of lovely people!!! Keep it up, hope to see you next week....it will be a longer run too!
