Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Katie Allan
Four Goodgym volunteers helped prepare the subsidised supermarket at Borough Food Cooperative. This week there was a bumper delivery of fresh fruit and veg to sort through. Fuelled by cups of tea and homemade frozen yoghurt (a great use for surplus/overripe bananas!), Mayuko and Ceiling sorted carrots and tomatoes, while Gemma and Katie prepared orders ready to deliver to local customers.
The Borough Food Cooperative opened in October 2020. With help from organisations like FareShare, the Borough Food Cooperative acts as a subsidized supermarket, offering members to stop in and pick up £15-£20 worth of groceries for £4.50. The Cooperative is open during lockdown to provide essential supplies to local households
