2 Goodgymers joined Stoke Newington Common Users group to help keep the Common looking in tip top condition. Plan A was to hook up the hose to the water supply on the common, but after realising that the council had shut it off, we switched to alternative tasks. First we planted some in wild flower seeds that will hopefully grow to create a protective border for this green space. This was followed by a short walk to a tiny urban oasis just off the common to give it a good water by hooking up the hose to next door's water. Having given it a sufficient soaking, the final task was to clear away the grass and weeds from the paving around the fountain, with hoes, trowels and good old fashioned hands-on-knees graft. A good evenings work and the group were so pleased with the difference we'd made.
