On a dark Thursday evening, 9 GoodGymers helped The Hut assemble rainbows and decorate the surrounding garden. This was in preparation for their Dreamscape Exhibition for York Design Week.

Firstly, we needed to install the large rainbows. We were provided with large wooden rainbows with convenient holes and slots for easy assembling. Simple right? Wrong. Even with a group of us, strategic thinking and a "gentle bashing", we still had wonky and insecure rainbows. Luckily Nicki and co were on hand with bolts and wrenches to fix the problem. I didn't see how they did it, but it worked!

We also had pots of 'gold' to attach to the end of the rainbows. They unfortunately wouldn't slot in nicely, so Zinnie was on hand to bash them in with a hammer.

Me "How are we going to get them out?"

Zinnie "...shush"

Whilst this was going on, Lucy, Cara and Abi were busy decorating the garden with an assortment of craft creations including flowers, pine-cones, bees and, of course, jellyfish.

Once we all finished, we converged to apply varnish to the rainbows. This did cause some paint mixing so some of the rainbows may appear more 'Grey' and 'Brown' than in nature!

After the work was done, we celebrated in the best way possible...with biscuits!
