It was a Northern London trilogy this evening as Toyin (Hackney), Ekaterina and Fay (Barnet) joined mission leader Rebecca (Haringey) to help out the Friends of Priory Park.

Priory Park's new playground had been covered with sand from local children enjoying their sandpit. Though undoubtedly a lot of fun to spread, the playground had become unsafe with this slippery terrain.

Thankfully Good Gym was on the task to make the playground safe again. Armed with brooms and dust pans, provided by Alice of FOPP, they quickly got to work, and quickly realized how tricky the task at hand was. For it is a truth universally acknowledged that an adult in process of tidying up is accompanied by children who want to play.

However by pulling together as a team the group soon succeeded in removing layers (and layers) of sand. In just half and hour they cleared the walkway and discovered the tarmac was a completely different colour.

Alice was thrilled with the results and the mission was made extra special by Fay completing her 100th good deed. Not bad for a Monday!

We are a group of 10 volunteers working to preserve and protect our Local Park.

We fundraise for projects within the park and work with the council to help keep the park a safe and welcoming place for the public to enjoy.
