ššš²š»š šš¬š² ā š§šµš®š'š ššµš®š š¶š'š š®š¹š¹ š®šÆš¼šš! š¶ It was an all singing, all dancing junior parkrun at Florence Park last week šŖ© Having trialled it with volunteers a few weeks before, resident parkrun musician and Run Director on the day Trev brought his 'parkrun Cokey' warm-up to the masses on Sunday, and oh boy did we all have fun š Adults, juniors and volunteers alike took part, using the conveniently-circular confluence of paths in the centre of the park as their stage šŗ It took a round or two of "Woah the parkrun Cokey" for some to warm up but before long everyone was clapping, spinning and shaking it all about in fine style, with the keenest of juniors turning the chorus into a game of Fruit Salad š Thank you to everyone who took part, and particularly to Trev for coming up with the idea and getting us all moving and laughing on a Sunday morning š Lots more happy things happened on Saturday too! Take a look below, starting with a lovely sunny photo album from Alex: šø https://photos.app.goo.gl/LvJRWSYLR2AyqpG26 š½š®šæšøšæšš»š»š²šæš: 64 juniors made the most of another beautifully sunny Sunday morning and made it round their two laps of Florence Park under their own steam, some with friends and family in tow, and others with adults waiting to cheer them in at the finish line š We counted at least 14 sets of siblings amongst the finishers - we love seeing the whole family get involved š Well done everyone! šš¶šæšš šš¶šŗš²šæš: 3 juniors joined us at Florence Park for their first ever junior parkrun on Sunday š±šæš³ Welcome to the parkrun family! š£šš: 12 juniors achieved new personal best times š Great walking and running juniors! š š¶š¹š²ššš¼š»š²š: One! Congratulations to Joseph on completing 21 junior parkruns and reaching his marathon milestone š„³ Don't forget to drop us an email at florencepark-juniors@parkrun.com if your junior is due to receive a wristband - we'll add them to our list to present when you next pay us a visit š„ š©š¼š¹šš»šš²š²šæš: 24 wonderful volunteers made event 106 happen. Thanks to each and every one of you for your support... š Gill and Richard were visiting Oxford from their home of Newark and, not wanting to miss out on their junior parkrun fix (Dukeries juniors is their local event), joined us at Florence Park for what in the trade is called parkrun 'voluntourism' š Richard acted as our Tail Walker whilst Gill cheered juniors round the course as a marshal. Thank you so much both - it was lovely to meet you! š¶ It's not often we have enough volunteers to have a parkwalker. However, this week we were lucky enough to have a great turnout in hi-vis, so Lam donned the blue parkwalker bib to accompany those walking and make sure everyone feels included, however they choose to complete the course āļø Juniors can volunteer as parkwalkers with their adults too - it's a great role for juniors who would prefer not to run and want to give their 2k a different focus š Drop us an email if you and your junior(s) would like to give parkwalking a go! š Daisy made her parkrun volunteer debut with us on Sunday! We hope you enjoyed your morning Daisy āŗļø Thank you so much for your support. If you'd like to give volunteering a try, just drop us an email at florenceparkjuniors@parkrun.com with your parkrun barcode number šļø Thank you for your support! How are we warming up next week? Another song and dance? See you at 8.55am on Sunday ā° #loveparkrun
