It was meant to be a 2 tasks week but due to the last minute dramatic reduction in sign ups, it turned out to be a 1 task week and we all tackled the longer run to Catford to flyer for the Downham Door Knock!
The Downham Door Knock is happening on Tuesday 16th May and is all about having open conversations with residents in the area. The aim is to meet isolated adults, link people with groups and services, raise the profile of Downham and Improve knowledge of the area to help plan activities and make funding bids.
We split into groups to tackle the streets and in pairs they streets were ticked off! There was only half a street left when disaster struck and we couldn't find one of the team. This being a regular occurrence at flyering tasks (I'm looking at you Miguel and Adam...), I sent pairs off in different directions with the instructions to meet back at Goldsmith's Community Centre. Oli managed to find Laura and we all regrouped at the Community Centre.
Time to say our goodbyes to Michael from Community Connections, who was very glad he didn't need to flyer 1000 houses on his own! And back to Glass Mill only 5 minutes later than planned.
Next week, we're handing out programmes for Brockley Max at various stations across the borough and also delivering some flyers for Give A Song.
P.S. Technical issues mean I'm unable to upload photos!
