Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Nicola Marshall
What a lovely night down at the George's community centre!
Tonight was extra exciting as we got to welcome a Goodgym tourist! That's a first since before the pandemic and it was just lovely!! Paul was visiting GG Crewe for the first time - it was lovely to meet you Paul! It was also really lovely to hear that you joined during the pandemic after seeing all the good stuff that your local Goodgym were getting up to! We hope you'll come and visit us again another week.
Tonight's task was another rewarding one. Paul and I sanded all the metal railings down on the outside of the building - all in preparation for them having a lovely new coat of paint later in the week. Apparently, I got my face in a bit of a mess..... Jan weeded all around the path and there wasn't a weed to be found by the time she'd finished!
Meanwhile, in the beautifully spruced up back yard, the rest of the gang were busy continuing with the sanding and painting of the benches and flower beds. I think they've had their final lick of paint tonight. Rob and Donna also got busy sanding and painting the double fire doors. Rob used a roller and a tray for the first time - obviously we captured the momentous moment on camera!! Rob, bless him, had already spent all afternoon volunteering at the vaccine centre, so to come for a second task that evening was incredible and greatly appreciated.
Our final job of the evening was to scrub about 20 small children's chairs. They had a good soapy wash and look all clean and fresh again - all ready for the Wishing Well staff meeting next week!! (Jan's words, not mine!).
Well done Goodgym Team. Amazing work as always!! So proud of you all and always LOVE being with you all ❤
