A dark, damp evening fooling around by the train tracks sounds like the beginnings of a bad horror movie, but in our GoodGym world it means the beginning of something beautiful, rediscovering the utter delight that is the Edge Hill train stations secret garden!

We were first here in August last year and with the ongoing struggles that most third sector organisations have been dealing with as we all work to recover from the pandemic, the place had got a little overgrown once again.

We lost our run leader at last minute to a gas leak emergency, so the three of us met at Edge Hill and joined the director of Metal (who curate the garden too) Jenny. The four of us got stuck in, loosing the light and gaining the rain as we went, chopping down the growth, weeding and sweeping and being entertained by the passing trains in and out of the famous Edge Hill Station (don't worry, there was a garden wall between us and the actual tracks!!)

We managed to clear quite a bit, creating space for the community groups to begin planting their gardens. But there is still a lot more to do, so we'll be going back again in a couple of weeks to continue getting this enchanting space back on track!
