Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Julian Osman
A gloriously sunny Sunday morning saw the Good Gym return to Westcombe Woodland, a 3.6 acre Woodland hidden away next to Seren Park in Maze hill. The Woodland is being lovingly restored to create a protected educational wild space. The mission for the day was to help with setting up a wildflower area to attract more bees for the hives in the woods.
6 runners attended and we welcomed Maria for her first Good Gym mission.
The task was a continuation of previous missions to move soil from the bottom of the hill through the woods to an area designated for the creation of a wildflower meadow. We quickly split into four groups with two runners filling bags, one moving it to a first stage one moving it up some steps and two more moving the bags to the local volunteers filling the trench. After 75 minutes nearly half a tonne of soil had been moved and the trench was nearly full. The task complete the Goodgymers headed of into the sun.
