Not very accu weather

Accu weather announced to me 'no precipitation for 4 hours' Try telling that to my trusty team who came along tonight! It was dismal dark drizzle and altogether pretty unpleasant ( sad face)

Added to this John pulled a calf muscle walking to the 5km to the task so had to sit out the task as he could hardly walk. However he did guard the bags ( whilst doing some on line Dr Who purchasing so dont feel too sorry for him) Wishing you a speedy recovery Mr R!

On a positive note, how lovely to see Sue off her crutches and without the stitches in her knee. Hopefully the first task of many for you this year.

Rosalind arrived on her bike pretty soaked . Kudos and thank you for coming along on such a night!

Armed with flood lights, GG lights and head torches we headed out to the garden that Gillybean and her GG team had worked on so productively last year. After raiding the shed for tools everyone set about their chosen job.

Lucy,Duncan and Sue started weeding and sorting the raised flower beds next to the patio whilst the rest of us worked on the north area of the garden.

Belinda,PaulRicky and myself,Julia starting the heavy work of shifting soil in buckets from the low flower bed to the moon shaped adapted flower beds together that the team had created last year. This certainly was speedy and kept us very warm! Rosalind trying to keep dry under her cycle helmet dug, raked and tidied the bed next to ours.

Barbara and Sue were in charge of the bulb planting and levelling of soil as well as sprinkling the poppy seeds far and wide:)

All this was under the watchful eye of our leader Gillybean fresh from her parkrun personal best time, who pitched in with all the tasks to help and guide us. Shifting the soil closer to transportation was especially helpful - thank you !

With the weather as it was, we decided to delay the track session to next week when we will return to carry on the good work at this task. The focus will definitely be on fitness! so be prepared for a warm up walk/ run of 15 minutes , task 40 mins then a track/ fitness session of 20 - 30 minutes. You have been warned !

Have a great week one and all :)

Julia
