Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Tim Dickson
Another glorious evening in Bexley last night. We had a fab turn out and all were keen to get over to Danson Youth Centre to help sort out their Peter Rabbit garden.... Due to the amount of work that needed doing i decided to reduce the length of the run but introduce a tough warm up and fitness session before heading over. We kicked off with our usual warm up followed by a tough fitness challenge. This started off with walking lunges returning to two cones. One cone was labeled Odds, and the other cone was labeled Evens. You had to choose which one. Your fate was then decided by the roll of a dice. If it landed on an odd everyone on the odd cone had to push out 5 squat jumps. Everyone on the evens cone was safe. This was repeated 5 times. We then done the same with a sprint round the sports centre and then choosing Odds or Evens on your return. This was followed again but in reverse. As you can imagine, the fitness session went down a real treat ;-)
THE FITNESS SESSION WENT DOWN A REAL TREAT
It was now time to head out to Danson Youth Centre. The route planned was just over a mile which may sound quite easy but it wasn't, not after that fitness session. We arrived to smiling, welcoming faces as always and set straight to work sorting out the Peter Rabbit garden. But wait, with the numbers we had this evening we were able to split into three teams so also got weeding done in two other sections of the centre. The ladies there couldn't be more pleased.
After around 50 mins it was time to start packing away, oh and get our mandatory photos showing all the work we had done. We also had to have our photos taken with Peter Rabbit. Well, it would of been rude not to........... Well what can i say. Another great evening with Bexley Goodgym done and dusted. Big welcome to Steve and well done for getting your first GG in the bag......... Until next week?
Great location that looks after the well being of our children and local community
