With grey clouds looming over head and a promise of rain to come we met down by the toad hut in Ruskin Park. Stephen split us into two groups and set us to work as the rain started to come down, earlieer than promised!

Half of us worked near the Band Stand (with a brass band soundtrack to work to) spreading bark over beds to prevent weed growth. The other half were set to work pulling up the weeds that had managed to grow in another bed ready for the soil to be worked and wild flower seed to be spread ready for next spring.

An hour later with a lot of bark spread, a large pile of weeds and a lot of muddy shoes we were done and the Friends of Ruskin park were grateful for our help.
