Each session will involve a Workout for Nature - a physical volunteering activity which will benefit local green spaces, and give your own wellbeing a boost. Simply sign up below and come along. About the session
We will be meeting at Saffron Acres the Heath side.
We'll help with the gardening this can be cutting back hedges, digging or there is also the option for light weeding, just general helping on what ever the exciting project they are working on at the time,
Afterwards there will be the option to try out Aylestone rec's outdoor fitness equipment or complete a few extra laps of the 1km loop used for Junior parkrun.
The task
We are always looked after by Jack who will be able to tell us exactly what we are doing, there are always jobs that are lighter than the heavier going digging. Previous tasks have been things like watering the tomatoes, creating a beer garden and cutting back bushes.
What you need to bring
Yourself, please wear clothes suitable for running in and trainers you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
Plenty of gloves provided but if you wish to wear your own feel free to. Warm layers as this is an outdoor task hat, gloves, jacket, jumper.

Several acres of orchards, Heath land , trees and meadows, lots to do a various points of the year e.g. Mulching in winter, fruit picking in Autumn etc

This is a GoodGym group run, with the option of walking too. You'll meet other GoodGymers at the start location and run or walk to the task together. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact your area activator Sarah by email at sarahhorner@goodgym.org.
Options are available to run between 1km and 5km in total.
Remember that we will be running or walking to and from the task, so you'll only be running or walking for half this distance in one go.
