For this session we're going to meet at the task, so you'll need to make your own way there. We encourage you to walk, run, or cycle to do so!
We already assist Martin Way Methodist Church with their Open Table Surplus Food cafe and now we are getting stuck into the Community Garden Project there, where they grow vegetables for the church activities and the community. Over the seasons the garden has lots of different jobs that need supporting. As well as maintenance such as painting and weeding, as it starts to warm up volunteers are needed for watering and tending to seedlings in the greenhouse, pruning etc. As an initial session we will be joining Abby and others at their regular Sunday afternoon gardening group. Dig out those gardening gloves and come along!
Christian CARE is a charity working in the London Borough of Merton. They are a group of 60 volunteers from 16 different churches offering help to anyone whatever their race, colour or religion. Each year over 100 families, whose lives are in crisis, are supported. They are always in need of food, clothes and furniture, so please follow the link to their website for further details and their latest requirements.
