About this session

The summer hasn't been the same without this task!

We join Joanna and Tunde this evening to water all the trees in this magnificent East London spot.

In the absence of any watering points in the park, there is only one option to help these thirsty trees: carrying and wheeling water from the canal...

What you need to know

  • We will meet at the Town Hall Hotel from 6:30pm to drop bags and warm-up.

  • We will leave the hotel by 6:45 to run the short distance to Meath Gardens.

  • We will arrive at the task just before 7pm. If you're meeting directly at the task, the official address is Smart St, Bethnal Green, London E2 0SN. However, we will meet by the basketball court, near the Palmers Road entrance to the park.

  • Please bring gloves. The main task will be watering the trees and plants in the park, but there may be some gardening tasks, including weeding, involved!

This task supports
Friends of Meath Gardens
A community association established to make Meath Gardens better for local people and wildlife in East London.

The Friends of Meath Gardens is a community organisation that is fighting to save, maintain and improve our green spaces. Meath Gardens, formerly Victoria Park Cemetery, is a large green area nestled next to Mile End Park. You can reach it over the footbridge near the Palm Tree and the Mile End Climbing Wall, or from Smart Street.

There's space to change and leave bags and toilets. We're not planning to do anything purposefully dangerous, but GoodGym takes no responsibility for your safety during group runs, you participate at your own risk. Participants accept full responsibility for items stored at Town Hall Hotel, and Town Hall Hotel and GoodGym will not be held liable for any losses or damages.

Come to the hotel entrance on Patriot Square, not the bar/restaurant entrance on Cambridge Heath Road. Ask reception where to meet us if you can't see anyone in a red t-shirt.
