Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
An amazing 24 Goodgymers and a dog called Bunty ran 5km, collected 8 huge bags of leaves and did a time trial!
Winter is here but so is GoodGym Camden, every week getting fit and helping our local community. This week we were joined by three lovely new people - Thomas, Lindsay and Caroline! We were also joined by a special guest Bunty, a lovely dog whose owner Alex was the first ever GoodGym Camden runner! Welcome to them all!
In the news this week:
Our task this week was helping Castlehaven Community Centre sweep, collect and bag thousands of leaves across their two parks. This is an amazing organisation based in the heart of Camden that has projects for both children and older people in the community.
We ran the mile to get there through the back streets of the area. Once we were there we split into six groups and spread ourselves across the parks collecting bundles, piles and mountains of leaves!
24 GGers + 30 minutes = a cleaner Castlehaven!
We had George's favourite magic hand tools, rakes, brushes and gloves. Everyone worked hard and fast over the 30 minutes and did a great job!
Once the bags were packed full as much as they could be we took a group pic and headed off. Chris led the way with his direction skills along Regent's Canal and to Granary Square.
Time Trial Time!
Every month at GG Camden we do a time trial of 850 metres around Granary Square, it's always good to test yourself! Well done to everyone for taking part, George came in first with 2.36 - amazing stuff! Matching the GGC world record I believe :)
Join us next week to spread pea gravel for Skip Garden and leaflet for Abbey Community Centre, sign up here.
