Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Laura Denham
Welcome to new GoodGymer Stuart! Great to meet you and welcome to the gang. We also welcomed back Tom this eve on his second good deed :)
Great turn out tonight with 13 heroes showing up in full force eager to 'muck in' shifting soil at Foleshill Library. Coventry Peace House are helping the library to revive the unloved garden which sadly is unused. They would like to create a community garden that everyone can enjoy.
To begin the revamp the task owner required 4 large bags of topsoil to be moved from the public pathway around to the back garden. There was no messing, everyone got stuck in straight away, shoveling soil into wheelbarrows then wheeling the barrows around and emptying the soil into the garden area. Tom and Laura were waiting with spades at the ready to spread the soil over the grassy section. Chloe meanwhile was working on the edges with her secateurs, trimming back the brambles and weed.
Very impressive how everyone found their roles and worked so well together, getting the job done in no time. It was finished that quick there was even time for us to do a double deed and get some litter picking done :) We didn't even go to the end of the street and we had filled 4 bin bags! We also passed lots of fly tipping which Laura documented ready to notify the council.
As usual you all did fantastic tonight and the task owner was really pleased.
Lots more to be done on the library garden still so watch out for more dates coming soon :)
