There was a reasonable sized queue when we arrived at Zimbabwe House. The homeless community of London had congregated in anticipation of a food distribution from another charity and the clothing and other supplies which we were helping 'Get Rid Of And Donate' to hand out. We set up an area on railings for jumpers, jackets and sleeping bags, whilst the rest of us handed out bags of clothes and toiletries from the van. There was a lot of enthusiasm for the useful supplies, and we quickly handed out all the bags before moving onto shoes, making sure that these were given to people with the right sized feet. There was then some final handing out of sundry items to people who had missed the initial distribution, before we shut up van with promises to return in a fortnight.
