Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
This week we have seven super runners cover 6km and wrap, ferry and organise 100s of Christmas presents at the Salvation Army HQ.
We welcomed Pauline back...and Abby after her bout of sickness - thanks for coming guys we really needed your help! The outward run was a short 2km over to Palmerston Road where the Sally Army's HQ is. This organisation does such amazing work internationally. Here in Bournemouth they are preparing for Christmas day which is when they host a massive lunch and celebration for those who may other wise be on their own or unable to celebrate. The plans sounded fab, lots of games, chocolate and mince pies. Then the main event, the turkey roast cooked by a lovely volunteer chef - I might be changing my 25th Dec plans!!
Carelle met our runners at the HQ and we immediately got stuck in speed-wrapping gifts. The 3 wise men amongst us helped Carelle move a vast number of bulkier gifts upstairs to our wrapping room. We worked at an amazing pace - so moved on to filling gift bags and shoeboxes. Finally we had some minutes to spare so Carelle asked us to unwrap this time, we had to remove packaging from GLOW STICKS....they must be for the after party!
Amazing team effort!
We had to pick up the pace to get home for 8pm and had 4 km to cover. By the time we had the beach in sight we let Andrew surge ahead as he clearly had energy left to spare!
Well done team - a brilliant session. See you for the final one of 2016 next week!
