Millie, Sophie, Emma, Harry, Eleanor, Daryl, Roger, Keith and Lea all got together at Langside School where Nick had more tasks for us to do. Cham, new to Goodgym and to all of us, managed to find us and was raring to go. Sylvie arrived “a tad” 🤪 later…. To summarise today’s task: we were cutting, grabbing and tossing! Cutting A LOT, sweeping A LOT, grabbing A LOT, and the best part of it: tossing A LOT!!! The taller than tall hedge at the front of the school was attacked by the strimmer together with Harry and Daryl, with Cham sweeping to his heart’s content. Millie, Sophie and Emma got busy cutting back the rosemary bush and the garlic…making the air fill with lovely smells. At the back Keith started off cutting back major bushes on the edge of the playground. He was joined by the front squad and later on by Sylvie. Oh and not to forget about Roger: our ACE jetwasher, attacking the dirt on another classroom. As photos show: we got an awful lot done; very much appreciated by Nick who rewarded us with some sweet smelling bathbombs. What a Lush smell 🤗 And… Eleanor was proudly showing off her 50 good deeds tshirt! 😃 Thanks everyone for all your hard 💪 work!

On a very hot, sunny day on the south coast of Poole Ruth, Emma, Sophie and Kim along with other volunteers on behalf of Surfers Against Sewage helped collecting 8.7kg in a mixture rubbish. They even had the start of a new outfit with the socks, bra and gloves they found!
This event was in partnership with Surfers Against Sewage in their Million Mile Beach Clean and they certainly clocked a few miles towards this goal.

Five Goodgymmers, Sophie, Millie, Emma, Keith and Lea, turned up at the directed location…. Where are we supposed to be?! Janet (on the phone), Mr Google and a six minute walk got us to the right door to knock on. Up the stairs we went to find two Ikea flatpacks waiting for us. After the unpacking phase, on to the instructions phase onto the screwing and hammering phase. With Millie, the Ikea flatpack specialist, and Sophie, the instruction booklet expert, we all got to work swiftly and efficiently. Everyone had a go at hammering and screwing, lifting and shifting. With the first wardrobe completed and set up in the right corner, a welcome quick tea break followed, after which wardrobe number two was screwed together and set up in no time. Next week a refugee family from Afghanistan will move in. Judging by the fairy bedlinen and the football and tractor bedlinen: two girls and two boys. A very satisfying task, and what’s more, ICN is keen to get us involved in more tasks.

It's that time again! GoodGym's Quiz at Abbeyfield Retirement Home! Tonight, all goodgymers except Eleanor met at the session, Eleanor like a trooper ran to the task and with one more session and Eleanor will be on her 50th good deed!! The groups split into three teams, Millie, Sophie and James Joined "The Loose Women" Emma and Harry joining "The Inadequates" And Eleanor, Mohammed and Daryl joining the team "We Four Kings" With the Quiz master tonight being Caprice, tonight's session also marked Caprice's 400th Good Deed. Yay! The quiz consisted of four rounds, History, Maths, General knowledge and Science and Nature. They even had a Picture Round which consisted of naming the famous landmarks. Tonight was tough, all teams worked hard but "We Four King's" and "The Inadequates" both top teams scoring 50/58!! A tie breaker question was set with the closest team to the answer for the win. Miraculously both teams were Four points out! What are the chances? It was too close to call so Caprice decided to make both teams The Winner. Well done to both teams, what cracking scores!! We will return again next month, We hope to see you there!
