Excellent to be back with GG Newham. After a 5 week break due to an ankle syndrome, called weakus-fragilitus-softitis ankles (self diagnosis), had a nice laugh and run back in good old East London.

We had a few new lovely faces too. Jo, James and Becky...we welcome you to the GoodGym fold. Also great to have Kev along too, red laces are coming your way Violeta & Sharon. Anyone else that brings an amigo is also entitled to this generous GG giveaway!

Yesterday's task was an unexpected...but fun one. We all met at the spiritual home of GG Newham - The Aquatics Centre. Then had a little catch up, warm up and random question session. We congratulated Tim who brought home the GG attendance bacon...with a whooping 50 runs. That's deserves a high 5 and a pint I reckon. Excellent work Tim.

Then some random questions to warm up your frontal lobes et al. "Favourite childhood toy?" and "Favourite famous dead person of 2016?"....I noted a lot of Rickman and Bowie fans. Some lego enthusiasts too. Illuminating information, as always.

We barely skimmed the floor, as we jogged casually over to Boleyn rd. With two different paced groups. Once we arrived there, Myra had already piled up mounds of leaves, soil and importantly weeds. Our jobs was to burn them to clear the way for ground laying in the next couple of week. We had to control the fire...

As fun as this was, everyone loves a fire, the material was a bit too soggy to burn...even though there were some very perseverant and improvising efforts. I'll speak to Myra about a repeat session, with a bit more structure and method that task would a corker. We just need to dry out the materials and get some fuel - simple.

After asking the guys several times to leave, they reluctantly obliged. Hypnotised by the flickering flame...it gets a hold on you!

A quick run back...almost everyone ran away from my pyramid intervals and legged it back to base!

A good time out yesterday, although I appreciate not our most effective. We'll work on that for next week. Plus some intervals/core work.

Have a great week and train happy
