Endure24 Reading 2018
Glastonbury for runners: how far can you go in 24 hours?
Labelled as 'Glastonbury for runners', Endure24 is a weekend long running party in the woods.
The idea is simple. There is a 5 mile lap course and runners (either solo or in a team) must run as many laps as they can in 24 hours. The race starts at 12 midday on Saturday 9th June and finishes at 12 midday on Sunday 10th June.
The event campsite is open from Friday to Monday with free camping for runners, friends, family and support crews. There is 24 hour catering, showers and massages available throughout the event weekend and the race village will be full of music and entertainment with live result updates screened throughout the race.
As you can imagine it's a pretty popular event with places booked up within hours of being released.
As a runner you have 2 options:
Run solo Run by yourself. For 24 hours! Those who do 20 laps (100 miles) get a special t-shirt. Oooooooh. Runners can do as many laps as they wish. Stop for a while if you want. Have some food, even take a nap. Just remember the clock is always ticking.
Run as part of a team This is likely the more popular choice! Run in a team of up to 8 runners, taking it in turns to do a lap of the course. Again you can chill out when you're not running - BBQ some sausages, sing kumbaya around the camp fire - just don't miss your turn!
There are 100 solo entries left: they will be released late July
Team entries will open at 7am on August 2nd
I've created this spreadsheet for people keen to be part of a team. Add your name if you want to be involved and make sure you're at your computer on 2nd August.
