Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
The Richmond GoodGym team were multi tasking wizards this week, not only dropping leaflets in abundance for two great charities but also, quite literally, dropping some pants. More on this later…
Keeping the faith with his disco passions, Mark had us form a circle around our handbags, I mean, rucksacks for our dynamic warm up – high kicking, knee swaying, practically jiving. Then it was up Richmond Hill for a quick training session in prep for our Tug of War challenge in a few months’ time. I think it’s fair to say everyone felt they’d had a good workout by the end of all the box jumps, press ups, squat jumps and the mini tug challenges, whilst Mark provided commentary on the lovely views since we were in too much pain to notice ourselves (thanks, Mark!).
Then it was back down the hill and across to our old friends, ETNA, East Twickenham’s Community Centre, to pick up leaflets for two charities – Vocal Tonix, a local community social and singing group in Twickenham, and StreetInvest, who work with children living on the street all over the world and who are promoting a family fun day in Twickenham on 10 April. Loaded up with leaflets, we split into two teams and set off to drop as many as we could in 30 minutes around St Margarets and Richmond with the promise of red laces to the team that managed to distribute the most.
Finally, we regrouped at The Vineyard in Richmond where we could drop our pants, old and new, in aid of supporting the fantastic work they do clothing, feeding and supporting the poorest and most vulnerable people in our borough. Two Sweaty Betty bags of undies were dropped at their doors – nice work, Richmond!
Big shout out to our new runners this evening Kyler and Maciek - red laces on the first run, great to have you join us
Run report very well written and courtesy of Elaine!! Apologies for some shonky photos - Richmond you were just to explosive on the jumps the camera couldn't keep up
News..News so sorry I was too preoccupied with my disco moves - Good luck to Liz and Gillian for the Larmer Race this Saturday (Those hills look a little menacing but show them what you are made of eh!)
