Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Welcome back GoodGymers!
8 of us ran 6km while wiping the smile off some graffiti artists....
It's been 2 weeks of Christmas and New Year indulgence but the team hit the ground running. I noticed some shiny new running gear on some of you who were clearly on the nice list this year!
We welcomed Maria to the group who has set herself some super running goals and got stuck into catching up on gossip while adeptly jogging 1.5km to our first task point.....or what we'd planned to be our first task point. A heavily graffiti'd phonebox box was no longer waiting to be cleaned by us - it had been dug out and loaded onto a lorry....death of phone boxes?!
We moved on and up the lovely long zigzag to our next task point. The council asked us to attend to signage in Fisherman's Walk that had been thoroughly tagged with graffiti. It took some serious elbow grease - we had 2 people working on it while the rest did some circuits then rotated - and chatted to a local lady who was loving our work.
We made a total of 6 further stops to wipe the graffiti clean off - very satisfying. Some of us even got a glimpse into the men lavatories while we worked (wink emoji!).
Then back to base over a bridge over a sewage pipe (really!), we warmed down and patted ourselves on the back for being awesome and managing to keep fit over the festive season - a great session completed by a super group!
Extra Extra - run in Saturday, 3km starter session with all of your names on it - see you then!
