9 do gooders took on a 3k run, a task at Living Under One Sun then let their hair down at the GGH 1st Anniversary social

Shouts out to all who joined us for the task and social!

First up this week was Dashing Dave and he bore a gift. He’d brought along some of his home brew, which I’ve wanted to try for some time now. Thanks DD! Next up was the lovely Vic and her new compression socks. Hope the calves aren’t too sore today. We were then joined by one or two we hadn’t seen for a while along with a newcomer. Shouts out to you Kimberly – lovely having you join us!

discovered a bees nest

After a short briefing and warm up we set off in search of this weeks light down at the L.U.O.S allotments. On arrival Sandy told us what needed doing and we split into groups to grab what we’d need, then reassembled near the potato patch where we’d be getting rid of some weeds that had been trying to take over the patch. Everyone got stuck in but, at about the half way point, Andy discovered a bees nest so we decided to abandon that task and move onto another patch where berries were being grown. We were tasked with more weeding here and as we did so we unearthed a nest full of angry red ants. This would not stop us though. We carried on here until our time was up. It all seemed a little short but we managed to get lots of weeds cleared and had a few laughs as we did so.

lots of chicken and a few beverages were had

Everybody gathered the tools and gloves we’d been using before we said our goodbyes, had a round of high fives and hit the streets again. En route back we stopped off for a few reverse dips outside KFC then we were off again in the direction on HQ. With a sprint finish along the home straight we all arrived back at HQ for our warm down. However, the night was still young and we had s social to get to so we headed to Chicken Town where lots of chicken and a few beverages were had to celebrate the GGH 1st anniversary. Special thanks was given to Sarah and Dave who had been with us here in Haringey since day one. Your efforts are appreciated greatly guys – keep on keeping on!

**Until next week folks stay fit, do good and look out for the light.
