23 speedy GoodGymers ran 6k to De Beauvoir Square to help Hackney Parks maintain the iron fencing with some serious scrapping!
Great to have a GoodGym Newbies, Hackney GoodGym Newbies and returning GoodGymers along for the ride!!
Heading off lead by Peter on an adventurous loop taking in some of Shoreditch's delights on a 3k loop bringing up into the beautiful De Beauvoir Square where we met Hackney Park Ranger Bruce. With all the kit laid out and ready for action we goggled up and spread out around the fence quadrant picking up on what we have been working on for the last couple of months and got scrapping. Smoothing down the iron fencing all in preparation for our return in September to paint our way to glory on the lovely smooth fencing!
Here comes the spanner in the works! The combination of air temperature, day of the year, vegetation, time of day produced a perfect Bug Storm! and we started to get eaten alive as we worked our way around the fence. Blood was spilled and in fairness we were defeated! But we will return stronger, covered up and with repellent!!
With 80% of the fencing prepared for painting and with the rain falling we abandoned the circuit blast and extended our running flow back to base at a good pace!
A quick stretch out and we were away!
Next week I am away, Ana Wandsworth super trainer will be leading the Hackney charge to the Tree Musketeers to shift a tonne (5) of soil!
Have a great couple of weeks and see you on the 5th!
Next Social is on the September 12th organised by our amazing Task Force Party planner Tom B save the date!!
Smooth Running
