10 snow angels ran 5km to help out at More 2 Childcare!

Last night, it was cold.... REALLY cold!!! But we had 10 of GoodGym's toughest runners (and cyclists!) out to earn their good deed... and Lee even still had his legs out! Snow? What snow?!

We left a little bit earlier than usual last night, the uni had shut early so no bag drop for us but it made for a quick getaway later on. Adorned in layers and trail shoes with minimal skin on show we headed off on our adventure...

Ice, ice baby!

It was pretty sketchy underfoot but thankfully no slips or slides from anyone, you guys have nailed the snow running! We looped past the chilcare centre and went down to the river for a photo and then back to the centre the long way round! 2 miles on the clock... nice!

Attack of the youths

The childcare is located next door to the church which hosts a "Youth Cafe" on Wednesday evenings.... one kid threw a snowball, then one thing led to another and before we knew it a full on snowball fight was under way! My favourite was when the Reverend came out and instead of telling the kids to stop, said "if you're going to be out here, you're going to get hit"... so we sought refuge around the corner and awaited the arrival of Eve!

A few minutes later we were let into the building and could finally get warm again! There was a good list of things to do. Cleaning toys, sorting the dress up area and fixing a mirror were the main ones. Everyone picked a task and got started.

8 legged freak

There was a bonus task in the form of capturing a tarantula, Matt and Ben were on it and within minutes had teased the spider into a colander. Nice work!

The most technical task of the evening was dismantling a free standing mirror and attaching it to a separate unit. Gareth project managed this one and even with a dead drill he managed to get it done! Awesome job!

After a little over half an hour, it was time to go. We took a lovely group photo by the big tree on the wall and parted ways!

Thanks so much for making it out in such treacherous conditions!!! You guys are troopers! Looking forward to seeing most of you on Sunday for The Big Half!
