Twenty one Goodgymmers run to Vauxhall to pack party bags for RAPt
Even though the sun has decided to do one for the time being, this didn't stop twenty-one harder Goodgymmers from turning up on a Tuesday evening to marvel at Benson's new head torch.
"It's weapons-grade", said John.
Also, to run 6k down to Vauxhall and back to help out RAPt, a charity providing treatment programs to prisoners suffering from drug or alcohol addiction. Mark was on hand to give us a quick run down of the work they do, and explained that they had one of their yearly reunion parties coming up and needed a few hundred goody bags filled. Everyone appreciates a good party bag (also being inside in a well lit, clean, air conditioned space) so we were only too happy to oblige!
An orderly queue formed (the best kind) and we set about stuffing bags with a variety of soaps, goodies and fliers. Luckily for everyone except George, this took conveniently long enough that there wasn't enough time for circuits afterwards! How tragic. Mark was super grateful for the amount of work we managed to get done, and invited everyone to the reunion party at Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church on the 1st of October.
A quick jog back and we all convened at Papa's, where this week's GBBO sweetstake 'loser' Jim had cooked a delightful batch of blueberry scotch pancakes for us all to enjoy. Which we did, while soaking each other with lashings of maple syrup, like the petrol station court water fight in Zoolander. Or maybe that was just me. I forget.
