Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
a perfect 10 runners covered 4km and did an AMAZING amount of work
This week we had glorious sun and two new faces - welcome Andy and Deepan. Shout out to Raluca who bagged herself some red laces in exchange for bringing a friend.
Our short run took us up one zigzag and over to St Clements church in Springbourne. We were met by Carol, a volunteer church warden who was desperately in need of help digging trenches in which she planned to plant shrubs. Classic GoodGym to the rescue!
Ross and Abi went to collect tools while Daryl got stuck in with what was available. We squeezed in some high knees, planks and squats while we waited for the tools to arrive.
Carol explained we needed to dig a long trench beside railings to plant some spikey shrubs which would help prevent people climbing the fence....recently there had been some intruders who started a fire.
The ground was hard going with loads of rocks and roots. But the team actually made it look super easy. Carol was amazed at our pace!
We cleared the dug out soil and ensured the trenches were big enough for the planter pots. And in the blink of an eye we were done. Carol was so pleased as their gardener has recently had a stroke so they really needed some extra help. Thanks team!!
The beautiful sun guided us back to the seaside, downhill all the way. We warmed down and confirmed curry night 6th April 7pm at Dosa World....and made plans for marshalling the Neon Run on Saturday night.
Brilliant work this week - next time we have a longer run and task helping a homeless charity.
See y'all next week!!!
