Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Joel Wiles
15 awesome GoodGymers ran 7k to One Big Family homeless charity and made a huge feast for the holes community of Westminster.
Great to have a few GoodGym first timers and Westminster first timers to coming along for a hugely important task with One Big Family homeless charity.
With a bit of a tight sandwich making deadline tonight we bust out the New Balance front door and settled into a very strong pace as we made our way South towards Pimlico.
Navigating through the busy Central London foot traffic we made good ground. With a few on the scout team up ahead seeing the lay of the sandwich making labs we were directed to the Lodge where we set about creating and dominating a super efficient production line!
Splitting into 2 groups the first set about bagging the mound of pastries ready for consumption. While the sandwich makers hit a great rhythm spreading, filling and bagging a sky high pile of sandwiches!! With some speedy cheese grating, smooth Jamming, and hectic ham laying were are on point this evening as the butter was perfectly spread to provide plenty of speedy bread supply.
With all the food ready to go we expertly stacked the boxes onto the fastest trolley you have ever seen!
With the first group heading directly back to base being lead by Damian the GGEats delivery service zoomed around to behind Victoria station where the food will be distributed throughout the evening to the homeless community. It was great to see where and to who the food we make on each visit goes.
Working hard on our way back to base we all managed to arrive safely back together and on time where we stretched out and headed home with a top task complete!
Next week we are off Christmas decorating for Open Age charity craft fair so bring your artistic flair for tinsel and glitter along for the run.
Have a great week
