13 ran to Moulsham mill to help in the interact garden.
Back to a bakers dozen
It seems our most common number of runners has been 13 for a little while but that seems to be lucky for us and we have been getting loads of work done. For this session we needed all of us to get the work done on time.
We welcomed newbie Lizzie to the crew and set off on the 1k run to the interact garden. It's always a good session at interact and Susie had a variety of tasks for us to do this time.
After a briefing we split into groups and began work. Some of us moving broken branches provided by Storm Doris and others putting rubbish into the skip. There was some heavy lifting to be done and Richard seemed to have everything in order stacking concrete slabs passed over the fence. We added more heavy concrete blocks to the pile and soon had most of the tasks complete.
just a little digging left to do
There was a little more to do, with a large amount of earth to be moved. There was the option of digging a pond or digging the path down 10 inches, which we decided was the best option. After a short discussion about how deep that was we began digging and loosening the soil with forks. it appeared at first that we were making it higher rather than deeper but once the soil was loosened it was easy to move with the 2 wheel barrows.
The soil was used to fill the concrete pipes that were being used as planters and we managed to fill the biggest one before it was time to head back. Susie provided tea and biscuits for us and we voted on a slightly longer run home, with Gerry leading some lamp post intervals on the way.
All done and a reminder it's pacer day and Chelmsford Parkrun this week so lets see if we can go get some pb's!
