Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Not only did these bright sparks carry the light of GoodGym but they also guessed what tonight's task was going to be. I need to make my quiz questions harder!
Holly Lodge is nestled in the heart of Richmond Park, an awareness of all the good things they do definitely needed to have its profile raised to the town of Richmond. So our runners tonight made sure this happened by distributing some fairly weighty leaflets (it took me ten minutes longer to get to Wholefoods tonight due to this weight) advertising Holly Lodge and their promotional quiz night.
They managed this after a tribal dance around a hypothetical open fire which enabled us to warm up in more ways than one. We were conscious that we resembled an alternative red minion demeanour in our little GoodGym shirts and our flashlights in the middle of our forehead. This didn't stop certain runners keeping time perfectly through some side lunges or the rest of us doing the funky knee bend warm-up.
This was promptly followed by the savage hills along the edge of Richmond Hill before we descended upon the Richmond people sharing the GoodGym love and Holly Lodge awareness.
Holly Lodge run a number of activities for the community ranging from school children on educationals and supporting the elderly and people with disabilities.
At a guess judging by the number of leaflets we had left we must have delivered some where near 1,000 leaflets. Hopefully this will contribute to the success of the Holly Lodge Quiz Night.
In addition I think I can vouch for everyone and say we enjoyed tonight's task, including Victoria our back runner who was admiring Richmond property....”It was a good session, lots of opulent houses! The Queens Road was so big we lost track of time but every cloud, as it meant we had to sprint which was a workout in itself”. Thank you Victoria for being an awesome back runner.
What a great start to Mental Health Awareness week. GoodGym is part of a national campaign with England Athletics and Mind, the mental health charity, to raise awareness for World Mental Health Day (which is today!) so feel free to keep sharing the awareness.
On the subject of sharing it was great tonight to be able to share some ideas and enthusiasm on a number of subjects specific to our Richmond runners, our conversations even got a little bit spooky with talk of a Halloween run. This sounds hilarious, should be a real trick or treat, lets keep the social activity flowing and see if we can put a team in. Further, please can you message me if you are interested in any of the task force roles within our team.
Sleep well guys...and thanks for saving me some ginger biscuits!
